U7 Hawks Wrap Up a Fantastic 2024
The U7 Havelock Hawks have had a great start to the 2024-25 season, showcasing the hard work, growth, and determination of these young players. With each game, the team demonstrated great progress in learning the fundamentals of the game. Here’s a recap of the season so far:

Game 1: Home Opener vs. Campbellford Colts Yellow

After many practices, the season kicked off on November 24th at home with a thrilling match against the Campbellford Colts Yellow. Leo DeMille stood tall in goal, delivering a strong performance between the pipes with some incredible saves, including stacking the pads. The U7 Hawks really set the tone for the team’s season.

Game 2: Hockey Day in Campbellford

The Hawks hit the road for a special Hockey Day event in Campbellford on December 7th, where they faced the Colts Yellow once again. Lincoln Grant tried his hand at goaltending for the first time, showing tremendous effort. At the other end, our second-year U7 players filled the net and showed great teamwork in passing the puck, setting up some great goals. Carter Pollock’s standout play earned him the MVP belt.

Game 3: Away Game in Stirling

In their next game, the Hawks traveled to Stirling to take on the Stirling Blues. The U7 Hawks were missing a few players, but Mckenna Bull stepped up as goalie, making key saves throughout the game while facing a lot of blue rubber. Dekker Scharr-Cagliostro was a force all game for the Hawks, and his performance on the ice was rewarded with the MVP belt.

The Hawks concluded their 2024 portion of the season with a road game in Madoc against the Centre Hastings Grizzlies. Emma Connor took charge in goal, delivering a solid effort and loving every minute of it. Brantley Tilley’s exceptional play earned him the final MVP belt of 2024. Brantley’s excitement in receiving the belt was only surpassed by his mom’s enthusiasm. Way to go Brantley (and Jessica!).
